How We Talk About a Power Greater Than Ourselves

I was raised in a "Christian" home but was never taught much about a power greater than oneself, kind of had to learn on my own but am grateful for what I did learn as a child RE God. I have trouble w/ the church I now attend because there are un-Christian things going on there. yes, I am sometimes not too Christian myself but... I'm talking egregiously unchristian stuff. I distance myself from all those who engage in such but it gets lonely. Anyone else out there feel this way? Some would say Switch churches but I know all Christians are sinners. I have never been a social person (one of my biggest problems and yet I don't see it as a problem at this time...). I feel misunderstood and etc.. so don't socialize much. I look back fondly at an emotions anonymous meeting I used to attend, though... it was a very pleasant experience, had candle light only, better for "thinking" as people talked, etc. But that mtg is no longer available in my area. Anyway, just thought I would share where I am at..
